Do all minor home improvements that have been put off. This way the buyer will not be discouraged by doing all of that work themselves.

If the landscaping is not up to standard then try to plant a bush or two, or maybe plant some mature brightly colored flowers. This will attract potential buyers that are driving by.

Try to clean out all of the kitchen cabinets and counters. Try and created all the free space you can. The kitchen cabinets and counters is one of the main things buyers look at in a new house. The more free space that is created in the cabinets the more it will look like there is plenty of space for all of their pots, pans, etc.

Try and leave the house when a buyer comes to look at your house. They tend to feel as if they are intruding if the owner is around.
